Fans of the Star Wars universe will be delighted with the announcement of the creator of The Mandalorian. Indeed, the latter is very reassuring about the respect of post-production deadlines despite the global health crisis. Season 2 should therefore be released in October 2020. No specific date has yet been disclosed. We all know that the Coronavirus pandemic has caused the closure of many studios and suspensions of filming around the world. Many series and movie releases have been postponed. Nevertheless, the production of The Mandalorian managed to finish filming just before the lockdown:
"We were fortunate to be able to finish shooting before lockdown," said producer and director Jon Favreau during a virtual panel hosted by the ATX Television Festival. "Thanks to the visionary technology of Lucasfilm and ILM, we were able to perform all our special effects, editing and post-production remotely, through systems set up for us by these two companies. "
All this makes it possible to release the second season in October 2020. Information confirmed by Hollywood Reporter.

Timothy Oyphant, Temuera Morrison, Michael Biehn and Katee Sackhoff have joined the cast. Temuera Morrison is set to play the iconic Boba Fett.Katee Sackoff will play Mandalorian warrior Bo-Katan Kryze. In addition, according to Hollywood Reporter, Michael Biehn will join the cast as a bounty hunter.Finally, Deadwood star Timothy Olyphan has also joined the series. However, we do not yet know the identity of his role. For Jon Favreau this second season is more like "a continuation of the first" rather than something entirely new. This partly explains the strict scheduling constraints of TV production.
"It's been a lot of fun and fulfilling to collaborate with new directors, to have new characters and to deepen the characters we already had," he added. "I hope the audience will enjoy seeing [Season 2] as much as we did. "
