Taxi 2 to have a good time with your family

Taxi 2 is part of the cult French film saga produced and written by Luc Besson. The second part, broadcast tonight on TF1 at 21:05, was released in 2000 and was directed by Gérard Krawczyk.
The synopsis: Daniel Morales is an ace of the wheel and the king of Marseille taxis. He met his future father-in-law, General Bertineau. The latter entrusted him with a mission, to take charge of a Japanese minister who had come to sign an important contract. However, the mission is not so simple. A yakuza organization kidnaps the visitor. With the help of his police friend, Emilien, Daniel finds himself at the center of many adventures to save this man.
Short anecdotes about Taxi :
  • Patrick Bruel, Vincent Perez, Olivier Martinez and Yvan Attal were approached to play the two main roles. All four refused to star in the film. Luc Besson and Gérard Pirès chose Frédéric Diefenthal and Samy Naceri. A much riskier choice since they were virtually unknown to the battalions.
  • Luc Besson contacted the Marseille rap group IAM to sign a title of the soundtrack (the city of filming being Marseille). The group, excited by the idea, proposed to compose all the music for the film. IAM wrote its first soundtrack.
  • The first film was a phenomenal success, achieving more than 6 million admissions in France. As for the second part released two years later, it will be seen by 10 million spectators in France. Following this, three other opuses followed, the last of which, directed by Franck Gastambide, was released in 2018. An American remake was even released in 2005.

Still Happy, a comedy-drama about family life

Encore Heureux is a film directed by Benoît Graffin and starring Edouard Baer and Sandrine Kimberlain. This film uses humor to talk about much darker subjects such as job loss, poverty or divorce. This feature film will be available tonight on W9 at 21:05.
The synopsis: Since his dismissal, Sam has lost all energy. Marie, his wife, tries to maintain a certain balance with her two children, however she is forced to steal from supermarkets. Alexia, their daughter, takes piano lessons for her competition at the home of a rich and unpleasant neighbor. One day, she dies in her bed. Alexia says nothing and steals an old lamp, which she hides in a dumpster so that her father can find it.The relationship between Mary and Sam is difficult, Mary even considers divorce.
Small anecdotes about Encore heureux :
  • This is not the first time that Edouard Baer and Sandrine Kiberlain have toured together. Already in 1999, in Rien sur Robert by Pascal Bonitzer and Claude Miller, but also in 2001 in his feature film Betty Fisher and other stories, these two actors gave themselves the replica.
  • Sandrine Kiberlain defines her character of Marie as a free and spontaneous woman, which does not prevent her from being very maternal, courageous and strong. A representation of the modern woman according to her.

Royal Palace! a film by Valérie Lemercier

Royal Palace! is a film directed by Valérie Lemercier, also known for her acting skills. The film has a 5-star cast as Catherine Deneuve and Lambert Wilson join Valérie Lemercier. The comedy will air tonight at 9:15 p.m. on TMC.
The synopsis: Armelle, a young speech therapist, is married to the youngest son of King Arnaud. When his father dies, Arnaud ascends the throne and Armelle becomes the First Lady. Multiple obligations and protocols then appeared. It is not always easy to respect them, even less with a mother-in-law like Queen Eugenia who puts great pressure on them.
Anecdotes about Royal Palace! :
  • Belgian singer Maurane plays herself. She plays the friend with whom Armelle comes to find refuge.
  • The film was shot between Belgium, France and Great Britain. Although the kingdom depicted in the film is located in an undetermined country, the filmmaker was inspired by many monarchies.

Great departure : work or family, a difficult choice for some

Grand départ is a 2013 comedy-drama film directed by Nicolas Mercier. Among the actors, we can note the talented Pio Marmaï in the main role as well as Jérémie Elkaïm, singer Eddy Mitchell and actress Chantal Lauby. The feature film airs tonight on Cstar at 9:05 p.m.
The synopsis: Romain Gauthier, whose professional success is at its maximum, has not really committed to his love life. The thirty-year-old can not manage his family life. His brother, Luc, a screenwriter, takes up a lot of space, and his father, Georges, struck by a neurodegenerative disease, is now dependent. A difficult choice between family life and professional life.
Small anecdotes about Grand départ:
  • The film is initially based on an autobiographical story. Indeed, the director's father was affected by a neurodegenerative disease just like the character of Eddy Mitchell.
  • One of the two brothers in Grand Départ , Luc, is homosexual. Without being the main subject of the film, homosexuality is an important theme for director/screenwriter Nicolas Mercier. He explains to the microphone of Allociné: "I liked the idea of a homosexual character without any apparent problem, to better highlight the contradictions and questions of a character whose sexual identity is considered the norm". Jérémie Elkaïm, interpreter of Luc, explains: "His job is precarious, his homosexuality could have put him aside, but he managed to blend them into a very classic setting.

Today's Moving Movie: Miss Daisy and Her Driver

Miss Daisy and her driver is a real favorite for the team. This cult film is both sweet, funny, and it questions many subjects including the racism that still strikes today. The feature film was released in 1989 and was directed by Bruce Beresford. Broadcast on Chérie25 at 9:05 p.m. The synopsis: Boolie believes her mother, Miss Daisy, a wealthy 72-year-old woman, is no longer fit to drive. So he recruits Hoke Colburn, a black man, as a driver. But, the old lady is not easy to live with. She categorically refuses to have a driver. He follows her in a car when she walks down the street. Little by little, she accepts his services. A story of friendship is linked between his two people, although everything opposes them.

Tonight, there are many possibilities. All that remains is to make a choice…
