Tonight at 9pm, TF1 will broadcast Jurassic Park, the first part of the famous saga. After bringing out the best anecdotes of E.T. : the alien, so it's the turn of another cult film by Steven Spielberg to go to the pot. To refresh your memory, a short summary of the story is necessary. Small detail to have: Jurassic Park was basically a science fiction book written by Michael Crichton. The rights were bought by Universal for $2 million.

Synopsis

Do not wake the sleeping cat… This is what John Hammond should have remembered with his launch into a dinosaur cloning experiment. It is with a drop of blood absorbed by a fossilized mosquito that the billionaire and his team manage to revive several species of dinosaurs. After this success, he is about to open the largest theme park in the world with the help of Dr. Alan Grant and his friend Ellie. But that's without counting on the greed and malevolence of computer scientist Dennis Nedry, or on the dangerousness of dinosaurs…

Jurassic Park : some anecdotes

  • The cries of the dinosaurs were made using other animal calls. And yes, the sound team of the film had to be very creative. To cite a few examples, the call of Velociraptors includes sounds of elephant seals, dolphins and walruses. The call of the famous T-Rex, meanwhile, is a mixture of barking, penguin calls, tigers, alligators and elephants!
  • The technicians in charge of the creation had to play the Galliminus themselves. To study the movement of dinosaurs and that everything remains fluid, they had to put themselves in the shoes of Galliminus. They had to run with their hands against their chest on an obstacle course, in order to better understand the movements to be recreated!
  • Actress Ariane Richards' head was digitally superimposed on that of her stunt double. Indeed, during the scene where Lex's character had to be suspended from the ceiling, it was his understudy who performed the stunt. But, she was forced by the action to raise her head revealing the entirety of her face.
  • Jurassic Park was first to become a series.  This project appeared in the early 90s. Going as far as meeting Steven Spielberg. But it will unfortunately (or fortunately) be a project that will never see the light of day.

So much for the few anecdotes to enjoy before tonight, where you can (re)discover the first part of Jurassic Park on TF1!
