Sixteen long years… Sixteen painful years during which players were desperately waiting for news from Valve, in order to find Gordon Freeman one last time. While Half-Life: Alyx is available in VR, the development studio has finally revealed the fate of their long-awaited game.
Half-life 3 : An Arlesian of video games
Half-Life 3 has become a myth. Long awaited but never announced, players were losing more and more hope, imagining the best and sometimes the worst on the game. Since the release of Half-Life 2 in 2004 and its re-release in The Orange Box in 2008, Valve has never given any news about its future jewel. Here is a news that may well disappoint you… The release of Half-Life Alyx had given hope to players, but the documentary of the game has just swept everything in its path… In The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx on Steam, Valve reveals that it has canceled several highly anticipated games, including Left 4 Dead 3. He is unfortunately not the only one since Half-Life 3 is part of this category and no one knew about it before! Would the reason for the cancellation simply come from the fear of disappointment? In the documentary, Valve explains that it was unable to develop a game that would meet the technical requirements so desired by players. The Source Engine game engine developed by Valve would not have been up to the task of satisfying fans according to them… We can only remember this fun easter-egg in the game Mad Max, from Avalanche Studio which presented the body of Gordon Freeman, announcing that the game would never be released… You have to believe that they were right. While waiting to see a last hope (because we always want to believe it), you can always dive into the last episode of Half-Life and even discover the remake of the very first episode through Black Mesa! Half-Life 3 is dead… Long live Half-Life 3 !
