Phase 3 of the MCU ended with the death of the galactic titan: Thanos. While phase 4 starts again with Spider-man: Far From Home, fans want the entry of a mythical villain of the comics: The Green Goblin! Norman Osborn is one of the most well-known antagonists in comics. Indeed, the Green Goblin has been living a hard life on the spider-man for a long time. He has remained as Spider-Man's perfect opponent. Now that Thanos is gone, it wouldn't be impossible to see Norman Osborn in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, the Green Goblin has undergone several evolutions throughout the comics. What version could we see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Soon the return of the Green Goblin?

Played fabulously by Willem Dafoe in the first part of Sam Raimi's trilogy, Norman Osborn is presented as a scientist. Corrupt boss of the Oscorp company, he manages to steal a serum supposed to increase his intelligence. After the serum explodes in his face, he accidentally turns into a Green Goblin. Equipped with protective armor, a flying machine and a pumpkin launcher, this is how the Green Goblin, Spider Man's sworn enemy, was born. Marvel: Fans want to see The Green Goblin integrated into the MCU! But, still in the comics, Norman Osborn evolves and becomes the leader of SHIELD, now HAMMER, and guides an assembly of villains called the Dark Avengers. This could be a great scenario considering the situation of the Avengers at the end of Endgame. Less likely, we could also see Norman Osborn introduced as Red Goblin. Indeed, after merging with Carnage, he becomes this new antagonist. However, it is very unlikely that we will see this version introduced in the MCU, as it is still too complex for the general public. Given the many evolutions of Norman Osborn's character, Marvel has more to gain by introducing the character and showing his evolution over the course of the films. As a result, it is the "scientific" version of Norman Osborn that is most likely to be integrated into the MCU. Then, he will evolve as the Green Goblin in the other films. All you have to do is wait for what Marvel has in store for us!
