On April 28, 2017, Tarsier Studio, known for having directed a few episodes of Little Big Planet sent us its new production: Little Nightmares. Released on several platforms, the game has attracted us with its neat graphic appearance and its striking realism of lights. And today, a second part is planned.
Little Nightmares, a first adventure appreciated.
Remember. The adventure featured Six, a little girl with a yellow wax who, armed with her lighter and her courage, had to solve puzzles and do everything to escape from the Lair where she was held prisoner. Constantly torn by hunger, the road was perilous and long. If we did not retain from the game the dialogues that are non-existent, we remember especially the sound effects and the graphic realization. Each level, surrounded by the flame of the lighter and the natural light have made their effect. And today, we ask for more! An oppressive atmosphere, a universe and creepy characters reminiscent of Tim Burton's style, have charmed fans of the genre.
Another adventure for Six, but in pairs this time.
After seducing with her first adventure, her DLC and her expansion, our heroine returns for our greatest pleasure. The second part will start from the same principle of realization and willhave a different frame. It will always feature Six but also a certain Mono. Mono is a little boy also dressed in wax. (Obviously, they seem to like waxed at Tarsier Studio) and a bag on the head with just two holes for the eyes. From the beginning of his adventure, he will meet an extinct Six. Having become fragile, it is gradually dying. Guided by Six, Mono must destroy the source of evil to save his friend. An adventure that will reserve its share of surprises and hidden poetry, in this nightmarish world.
If the realization is as neat as the first part, then it is very likely that Little Nightmares 2 manages to rise to the ranks of the nuggets. Normally scheduledfor June 1 , 2020, the release had to be postponed. But don't worry, the title will soon be with us.
Bandai Namco, the game's publisher, has announced that Little Nightmares has surpassed 2 million sales! There is then a good chance that the sales of the second part do as well, or even better. Note that DLC and an expansion are planned. Great news for fans of the license.
A launch trailer was presented at Gamescom 2019. New character, new environment. Something to delight us once again!
Six, make his cinema! The Russo brothers behind the project.
It's announced. It's official. And it's under development! Little Nightmares makes a place and joins the catalog of video games adapted to television. The idea came from Joe and Anthony Russo. If these two names don't ring a bell, they are known for directing two Captain America movies, The Winter Soldier and Civil War.
The team will consist of the DJ2 Entertainment studio; A company specialized in the adaptation of games on screen. Life is Strange by Dontnod is also in development at home. And the director well known to animation fans, Henry Sellick. For those who don't know, he directed The Strange Christmas of Mr. Jack and Coraline. So he is perfectly in his element to make Little Nightmares.
Six has not finished talking about her. She has seduced players of the genre and is determined to continue the adventure. The project to adapt Little Nightmares to the screen is ambitious, but the Russo brothers are well surrounded.
Note that a comic strip has also been published. The latter being a spin-off of the official game, it takes over the universe with a longer story and new characters. Available for €9.90 on Amazon.
