Just like the universe of the Harry Potter saga, that of Game of Thrones will have its amusement park! A news that can only delight fans, nostalgic for the multi-awarded medieval-fantasy series, ended in 2019.  Last year, Jeff Peter – HBO's vice president of licensing and retail – had mentioned this possibility. Indeed, there was talk of a possible museum on the premises of Linen Mill studios, in Northern Ireland, a way to pay tribute to all those who worked on the series.

A gigantic project

Winterfell More than a series, it is a production that has created jobs in Northern Ireland during the eight years of filming. The "Game of Thrones Legacy Experience" project has finally received the green light from local authorities, even though there is no specific opening date for the moment. It will cover more than 110,000 m2 of Northern Ireland. Exhibits of weapons, costumes, and filming objects will also be visible in this huge park. The park will be able to welcome up to 600,000 visitors each year, and we suspect that the success will be at the rendezvous, the figures of Game of Thrones have always been impressive!

An Irish tour of Westeros

The Dark Hedges, County Antrim As the series has been shot all over the world, from Dubrovnik to Malta, via Seville, not all sets will be visible. On the other hand, fans will be able to walk some parts of Westeros, such as Winterfell, stronghold of House Stark or the castles of House Greyjoy and Tully. Visitors will also be able to discover Castle Black, headquarters of the Night's Watch of which Jon Snow is a part. Other sets will also be, such as those around King's Landing – Port Réal – but not the city itself since the filming was mainly done in Croatia. In addition, Game of Thrones has significantly boosted European tourism since its inception. Northern Ireland is not to be outdone, with settings like those of Dark Hedges – the royal road – or Ballintoy – the island of Pyke. The series, now cult, is not ready to be forgotten by its fans, who are waiting for an opening date of this ambitious park!
