WandaVision episode 4 is available on Disney+. And this time, the series puts a big boost and connects more with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Jac Schaeffer finally gets to the heart of the matter. This time, it's no longer funny. Spoilers alert!

Connecting to Avengers: Endgame

This episode 4 begins with a powerful and exciting opening scene. Jac Schaeffer decides to connect WandaVision directly with Avengers: Endgame. Quite cleverly, she reuses Thanos' snap to incorporate it into the show. The first moments of this episode 4 begin in a hospital and stage the return of Monica Rambeau. Presumably, the latter died during Thanos' snap. Like half of the universe it went up in smoke because of the nihilistic action of the mad titan. Five years later, when the Hulk snaps her fingers, she comes back to life with the rest of humanity. The beginning of this new episode takes place exactly at this precise moment, when Hulk snaps his fingers, and thus offers behind the scenes. Five years after her sudden disappearance, the protagonist played by Teyonah Parris returns from the dead. Review "WandaVision" episode 3: the series gets to the heart of the matter So it's a smart parallel proposed here by Marvel. Because this theme, barely addressed in Spider-Man: Far From Home, is finally developed here. What happens when half the universe comes back to life? What are the consequences? How can humanity manage such a change? WandaVision finally offers some elements of answer and stages this double reversal. A significant change almost as confusing as the one engendered by Thanos five years earlier. After all, it's quite logical, half of the universe that comes back like that, magically, it's enough to fuck up a hell of a mess. Whether in general, but also at the level of the individual, confused, who becomes conscious again after five years of absence. Her life has changed, the world has changed, and rehabilitation can be difficult. This is enough to traumatize individuals. But not Monica, who returned to service almost instantly, despite the death of her mother (who was also at the origin of the creation of the S.W.O.A.D.). WandaVision offers relevant and useful insight into this second snap, almost as destructive to the global balance as the first.

WandaVision: Things are accelerating

The rest of the episode brings many explanatory elements on the first three chapters of the show. Jac Schaeffer leaves Westview and the two heroes to go to other horizons. The series develops the character of Monica, but also the S.W.O.A.D as a whole. We learn more, whether it's how the heroine joins Westview, the mysterious beekeeper, or the identity of the one who controls everything. Not surprisingly, Wanda seems to be fully aware of what's going on. Obviously, it is she who is at the origin of this alternative reality, created from scratch. She is the one who controls the characters, the places, the temporalities, all this to bring Vision back to life. WandaVision also features two characters already known to MCU fans : Jimmy Woo (played by Randall Park) and Darcy Lewis (played by Kat Dennings) Jane Foster's assistant in the first two Thor films. Review "WandaVision" episode 3: the series gets to the heart of the matter Thus, this episode 4 provides elements of answer, and is located in parallel with the events of the first three episodes. This new chapter tells everything that happens outside of Westview during the first three episodes. We learn more about Monica Rambeau, we know who tried to get in touch with Wanda through the radio, we know how Wanda controls all this, and finally we learn more about these mysterious sitcoms. For the first time, Wanda looks threatening. The show takes a dramatic and more ambitious turn, until it brings back the horrific vision of Vision's corpse. For the first time, the atmosphere takes on an unexpected creepy air. Wanda has not finished surprising us, and the extent of her powers is finally beginning to manifest. Huge abilities, capable of recreating an entire city, a complete reality and characters of all kinds. Which suggests that Wanda could be the big villain of the series… This time, we're right in it! Finally, WandaVision takes off. An exciting episode 4 that comes out of the routine imposed by the first 3 chapters. The show goes to other horizons, offers another approach, brings its share of explanations and new characters. The MCU is back! https://youtu.be/wqMFPYwZ_TI
