Audrey Hepburn, unforgettable heroine of "My Fair Lady", "Diamonds on Sofa" or "Roman Holiday", is at the heart of the documentary soberly titled "Audrey" and available on video since March 3. This documentary paints an intimate portrait of the star. Today we celebrate Women's Day. We then chose to tell you about an exceptional woman, Audrey Hepburn. But is there a person on Earth who doesn't know Audrey Hepburn ? From Roman Holiday to My Fair Lady, Charade, Voyage à deux, Ariane and Drôle de frimousse, she has established herself as one of the most iconic actresses of the golden age of Hollywood.  A true icon, yes, but not only. This is also announced by the subtitle of this documentary by Helena Coan, "More than an Icon", soberly titled "Audrey" in France, where it is available on DVD and VOD since March 3. In the documentary, there are of course some film excerpts, from his first appearances to his most emblematic roles. However, these cinematic elements serve primarily as temporal markers. Because the essence of the documentary lies not so much there as in the other facets of the star and fashion icon. This documentary gives us a more intimate and human portrait of the actress: her passion for dance that she will not be able to fully satisfy; her troubled childhood marked by the absence of her father and the German occupation with which she grew up in Holland during the Second World War; his desire for a child; her marriage to Mel Ferrer, happy before falling into decay… So many cracks that she hid behind her big eyes and her leaping energy. The feature film also shows us how the actress, who won an Oscar at the age of 24 thanks to Roman Holiday before becoming the face of French fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy, managed to find inner peace by putting her star status to the benefit of others.  This was particularly the case when, at the end of her life, she became a UNICEF ambassador, having grown up with war. Thus, in this film and even from the first seconds of the trailer, we hear in particular that "The best kept secret about Audrey, is that she wanted to be loved". We are then able to consider this documentary as a condensed biography of the famous actress in a hundred minutes. This consideration could then be the limit of the film because the greatest connoisseurs could learn nothing about the one who signed his last appearance in Always, in front of Steven Spielberg's camera.  But even if a lot of information is already in books dedicated to him, this does not mean that the documentary is not interesting. It even allows you to go beyond the image printed on film thanks to interviews with his son, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, or unpublished archives. Within the documentary, we will be able to find interviews with the main interested party, some of them in French. So you will have understood it. Fans of Audrey Hepburn and those who are not particularly will have one thing in common at the end of this documentary: the desire to (re)immerse themselves in her filmography: https://youtu.be/DOY77nyd6fY
