The OST of Itaewon class:
The songs of this drama are particularly beautiful, here are some themes: Start (시작) by Gaho – this song whose title is "the beginning" is a very powerful piece that fits perfectly to the plot of the drama. In the important moments when the hero progresses to achieve his goals, "Star" returns regularly.
Sweet night by BTS' V – this song is slower, and soft but the lyrics are very deep. She tackles the theme of sharing her inner concerns with her friends.
Someday, the boy by Kim Feel- this last song is very emotional. It deals with Park Saeroyi's memories and the things he could not accomplish.
What are the positive points of the drama?:
First, the drama deals with several taboo subjects such as racism among others. This is a really innovative subject in Korean series since we find a black person. The character of Guinean origin finds himself rejected at the entrance of a bar. An unfortunate situation but one that is topical in South Korea.
Secondly, the characters are very endearing thanks to their ways of acting in different situations. They are believable and human even among the evil characters of the story.
Thirdly there is a lot of action and twists which makes the plot more interesting. Indeed, the pace of the story is very sustained.
However, the romance of the drama between Park Saeroyi and Jo Yi Seo did not totally convince me and is only too little present in the drama. We would have liked this aspect of the plot to be more developed.
Itaewon Class is a quality drama, modern because it addresses current topics. It turns out to be a reference series in the Netflix catalog. We highly recommend it.
