The Mandalorian: a chapter 11 that finally moves the plot forward
That's kind of the big criticism of the series. The Mandalorian offers a plot that lacks depth and tends to move in slow motion. The show prefers to regularly offer side episodes than to really get to the heart of the matter. With this new episode, directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, there are finally concrete things happening, which have something to delight fans. Indeed, Jon Favreau's show enters the depths of the Star Wars universe, and offers impactful scenario elements. No more side stories, this time, The Mandalorian puts a boost to its plot. 
As usual, this chapter 11 offers superb action sequences, perfectly controlled, especially through an opening scene that is certainly worth a look. And once again, the photography is beautiful and the aesthetics extremely polished. Bryce Dallas Howard signs superb shots on spaceships, and Ludwig Göransson's music takes on a completely different identity in this episode. This new chapter offers a frantic pace, exciting revelations and is clearly a notch above the two previous episodes.

It is also a very generous episode in what he wants to tell. Against all odds, this new chapter presents new scripted elements, which make it possible to advance the story drastically. The plot is becoming clearer, and Jon Favreau reserves his fans a lot of surprises. Already, and this is one of the main reasons to watch this last part, is that new Mandalorians are appearing. One of them is a very famous protagonist. This is Bo-Katan Kryze, a Mandalorian known to the audience of the two Star Wars animated series. The latter is indeed a recurring heroine of the Clone Wars and Rebels series. A fierce warrior of the Mandalore clan, Bo-Katan was previously a member of the Death Watch during the Clone Wars. She is also the sister of the late Duchess Satine Kryze, former ruler of Mandalore, betrayed by her peers and by the Vizsla clan. Bo-Katan aspired to overthrow his sister's pacifist regime, aided by the Vizsla clan and its powerful Death Watch, a horde of violent and dissident Mandalorians. Unfortunately, this political putsch gets out of hand, and her sister is assassinated, which pushes her to break away from the Death Watch. 
Later, in Star Wars: Rebels, she takes possession of the black lightsaber. She was the last owner of the gun before it fell back into Moff Gideon's hands. And the icing on the cake is that actress Katee Sackhoff, who already voiced the character in both animated series, resumes her role in The Mandalorian. So much for the crucial information of this new episode. An element that will delight fans but leave neophytes on the edgeat. And his arrival obviously leads to other references. Because this Chapter 11 is also an opportunity to finally see Moff Gideon, played by Giancarlo Esposito and absent from the series since the finale of season 1. The episode also allows us to have news of the famous black lightsaber, and the plot reveals a central element on the origins of Din Djarin. Our hero is actually a descendant of the Death Watch, not a classic Mandalorian. An important revelation, which calls into question his entire conception of the Mandalorian way… Finally, the long-awaited name is finally released. The one everyone was waiting for. Ahsoka Tano is mentioned!
An episode too generous compared to its duration
The Mandalorian is finally moving forward. And Bryce Dallas Howard signs an extremely generous episode. 35 minutes of pure pleasure for the fans, whose revelations fuse in all directions. But paradoxically, this episode 3 is much too fast. The rhythm is frenzied and finally flies over its writing elements. Thus, the references go too fast, the revelations are thrown head-on, which leaves very little time for the viewers to breathe, and direct the continuous flow of information. Hardcore fans will capture all the tribulations, with a smile on their faces, but for others, it will be difficult to make a concise and concrete summary of this episode. This chapter 11 deserved a longer duration to really develop its many story elements. More patience would, for once, have been life-saving. More time to really understand and therefore benefit from these discoveries. For the first time in the history of the series, this episode 11 has too many twists. A height for a show often criticized for its lack of impact and reversals of situation. 
This is finally the only downside of this new episode. His choice of rhythm slightly too intense, which does not allow the various revelations to have the expected impact. Nevertheless, this chapter 11 is a huge pleasure, which allows the series to move in an extremely exciting direction. And, which allows Star Wars fans to remember why they take so much pleasure in these delicacies. In short, this new episode is for the moment the best of this season 2.
