The Lascars: from the small to the big screen
In 1998, a small group composed of Number 6, Eldiablo, Alexis Dolivet and Cap 1 imagined an animated series that would become cult. They all created Les Lascars together. Broadcast on Canal +, the show, composed of 60 episodes of 2 minutes receives a warm critical reception. The treatment of the city, and the suburbs with humor and malice makes it possible to give another look at the suburbs, and demonizes it with humor and verve. It is a cult series today, which has influenced many other artistic productions (such as Les Kaïra for example). 
In 2012, a series in live version this time, is imagined, derived from the success of Les Lascars. Entitled Lascars, and worn by Alexandre Achdjian, Isaa Doumbia, Pablo Pauly and Nassim Si Ahmed, this spin-off series has 24 episodes of 20 minutes spread over two seasons. This series, created by the same team as the original show, does not meet the same success and quickly falls into oblivion. But what interests us today is the animated film, released in 2009. Directed by Albert Pereira Lazaro and Emmanuel Klotz, the film Lascars met with stunning critical success. The press and spectators alike praise this exciting production, paying a touching tribute to the original series. The feature film was nominated twice at the Cannes Film Festival and grossed more than 4 million euros at the box office.
