Spring is finally coming up, the sun is back and we have only one desire: to indulge in all kinds of bucolic activities. And in order to bring an extra touch of cheerfulness, today we offer you five musicals to see absolutely. The opportunity to prepare for karaoke nights to come.

The High School Musical series, the musical: for a handful of nostalgia

Released in November 2019, the High School Musical series currently has only one season on its counter. However, the second season has just been announced for May 14, 2021. So you only have two months left to update. Taking up the mythical universe of Kenny Ortega, the series tells the daily life of teenagers who decide to put on a show on the film High School Musical to honor the trilogy shot in their high school. The series deals with rivalry, tumultuous relationships, self-acceptance as well as the first emotions of love, all in music. We take pleasure in discovering the covers of the songs that rocked our childhood. And to accentuate the nostalgic side, Tim Federle invited Lucas Grabeel (Ryan Evans) and Kaycee Stroh (Martha Cox) during an episode. A nice way to pay tribute. The first season is available on Disney+.  1 The five musicals to see to liven up your evenings in song @ABC Nina Salazar (Olivia Rodrigo) and Richard Bowen (Joshua Bassett)

The Prom: a comedy full of hope

It seems like dreaming when you see the cast and yet, this one is very real. From actresses known for their transcendent voices to actors who have thrilled the hearts of moviegoers, Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, Kerry Washington and Keegan-Michael Key have drawn attention to this colorful comedy. And if that's not enough to convince you to take the plunge, know that Ryan Murphy (Glee, Ratched, American Horror Story) is at the helm. The film is about a young girl who wants to go to prom with her girlfriend. Her dream of taking her dancing is reduced to dust when the parent manager refuses. Emma will then cross the path of four fallen actors of Broadway who will help her realize her wish. The film is available on Netflix. 2 The five musicals to see to liven up your evenings in song @Netflix Barry Glickman (James Corden), Angie Dickinson (Nicole Kidman), Trent Oliver (Andrew Rannells) and Dee Dee Allen (Meryl Streep)

La La Land: to live the American dream

24 times awarded in 2016, including six times at the Oscars and seven times at the Golden Globes, La La Land is the musical not to be missed. Immersed in the heart of the city of angels, we follow the crossed destiny of a young woman who dreams of becoming an actress and a musician, passionate about jazz. Against a backdrop of romantic and dreamlike music, we take pleasure in following the birth of this Hollywood love. Damien Chazelle manages to bewitch us in this poetic and stunning comedy, which reminds us greatly of those of yesteryear. 4 The five musicals to see to liven up your evenings in song

Isn't it romantic: a tangy romantic comedy

Unhappy in love and at work, Natalie thinks life has a tooth against her. Single, she lives alone with her poodle and hates romantic comedies. However, after an assault in the subway, she wakes up in a parallel life that looks in every way like a silly sentimental comedy. Shot in a comic way and pushed to the extreme, Isn't it romantic is funnily touching. Taking up the keys of romantic comedies, the film mocks typical clichés. Julie and the Phantoms: an offbeat teen series

Released in September 2020, Julie and the Phantoms is a series directed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical, Descendants). The series follows the story of Julie, a young high school student who lost a taste for music following the death of her mother. One evening, it sees appear from nowhere a boy band from the 90s, who died several years before. They will then help him to immerse himself in music and revive his passion. This endearing comedy has been extremely well received by the audience who are eagerly awaiting the second season. The series is available on Netflix. 5 The five musicals to see to liven up your evenings in song
