Imagine Dave Bautista joining the DC Universe as Bane? If nothing concrete exists at the moment, the actor dreams of playing the enemy of Batman as he recalled during a panel of the online convention Justice Con. What if Dave Bautista broke Batman's back? For several years, the actor has not hidden his desire to embody Bane on the big screen. Moreover, the actor reconfirmed it in a panel dedicated to him during the Justice Con. This online convention was dedicated to two Zack Snyder films namely Justice League and Army of the Dead, in which we will have the chance to find the former wrestler on May 21. Asked about the villain he would like to play, the interpreter of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy did not take long to answer:

"It would be Bane, without any hesitation. I have never made a secret of that. I want to play Bane so badly that I went to Warner Bros. I had a date with them, with DC, and I walked in and said , 'I want to play Bane!' I'm not joking. They said, 'Wow, but we're not casting Bane,' and I said, 'I don't care, it's going to be me.'"

Indeed, unlike the Penguin, Catwoman or the Mystery Man, Bane is not scheduled in The Batman by Matt Reeves, expected on March 2, 2022 in our theaters. But this may only be part postponed. Dave Bautista may have a chance to succeed Tom Hardy but also Jeep Swenson, who was also a wrestler before playing the character in Batman & Robin, released a few weeks before his death. Created in 1993, Bane is a supervillain whose strength has been increased tenfold thanks to a super-steroid called "Venom". Having killed all the scientists and military who had participated in his transformation, he is the only DC character with these abilities. He remains famous for breaking Batman's back during a confrontation. An iconic scene that was found in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises in 2012. So will Dave Bautista make his dream come true? Will he have the chance to fight the Bat Man? Nothing is certain yet… In the meantime (re)discover Dave Bautista in Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead , on May 21 on Netflix: https://youtu.be/9aiD9JGZn8k
