The world of two-wheelers is in mourning at the announcement of this terrible news. The death took place on the circuit of the Italian Grand Prix, during qualifying practice. Young Moto3 rider Jason Dupasquier was only 19 years old. The promoter of the motorcycle racing world championship revealed it, in a press release:
"We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Jason Dupasquier. On behalf of the entire MotoGP family, we send our love to his team, family and loved ones. We will miss you sorely on, Jason. Ride in peace." "Despite the efforts of the circuit's medical team and all those who then cared for the Swiss driver, the hospital announced that Dupasquier has unfortunately succumbed to his injuries."

Dupasquier had "severe brain damage"
Jason Dupasquier had fallen in the last moments of qualifying. According to television footage showing only the end of his crash and statements from the other riders involved, he was hit by at least one motorcycle, before sliding lifeless on the track. After about forty minutes of intervention by rescuers, the 19-year-old Swiss "polytraumatized and in a serious condition" was transferred by medical helicopter to the trauma center of the Careggi Hospital in Florence. The hospital, for its part, confirmed to AFP "the beginning of the procedure for determining brain death, due to serious brain damage incompatible with its survival". The young pilot had "undergone overnight thoracic surgery for a vascular injury," the hospital told AFP in the morning. "Severe brain damage (persisted) and he (remained) in intensive care in a very serious condition," a spokesman added. 
Tributes in his honour
Son of motocross and Supermoto rider Philippe Dupasquier, the No. 50 made his World Championship debut in 2020. Under the colors of the German PrüstelGP team, which races KTM. He scored no points and placed 28th in his first season. In 2021, after five starts, he was 10th in the drivers' standings with 27 units. At the Mugello circuit on Sunday, many drivers are wearing stickers in tribute to the young Swiss. The last driver to die in Grand Prix was Spaniard Luis Salom at the 2016 Catalan GP.
