As summer begins to recede and vacationers return home, it is high time to wonder if eroticism is not nestled in summer between two rivers… To find out, Oscuro Rosa invites you to go in search of aquatic pleasures. Between dream and fantasy Young Gloria takes advantage of a beautiful spring day to daydream around the marshes. But her thoughts lead her to erotic shores. She sees herself having sex with an albino man. In addition, a snake tells him that with each orgasm, he will come to reveal a secret. Thinking that it is just a dream, she is extremely surprised to find that she now has a new appendage in her crotch that very strongly resembles a male sexual organ. Later, she discovers new desires from this metamorphosis. But how do you have intimacy when your body is transformed? 
Oscuro en Rosa describes an uncertain world. Is Gloria really dreaming? Is it in her tidy garden or in the wilderness? The sea marsh where it lives is also a space between water and land. Spring is an shoulder season. All this vagueness prepares us for the transformation of heroin. Tony Sandoval who combines here the functions of scriptwriter, illustrator and colorist. In Oscuro en Rosa he adopts the tone of a tale because Gloria is the narrator of a fantastic story. The animals talk there. An albino man emerges from the waters. From the first pages, this mixture of tale and adult narrative evokes Tim Burton but who would have dropped the constraints of the studios to talk openly about sexuality. We can also think of Guillermo Del Toro's latest film for this exploration of a paradoxically very attractive monstrosity. A new vision of the flesh Oscuro en Rosa is part of a new collection around eroticism published by Glénat. Already endowed with two other titles, Porn'Pop supervised by the former pornographic actress, Céline Tran, wants to take advantage of all the possibilities of the comic strip to give a new, committed and free vision of sexuality while entertaining readers. The images are explicit – without ever being vulgar or pornographic – and therefore reading is reserved for adults. Through drawing, Sandoval knows how to embody desire as shown in the story and the illustration gallery at the end. The colorization in watercolor makes the texture of the bodies very carnal but also fluid showing bodies in full mutation. The cartoonist also plays with different colorizations throughout the story. It is far from obvious when a love relationship turns into mythological fights. This is all the more apparent because the text is reduced to the essentials. 
The subject is also very modern. Far from being a passive being, Gloria is master of her actions. Always ready to satisfy her desires, she literally takes matters into her own hands. In parallel, we follow Virginio, Gloria's neighbor, who, as her name suggests, still has a lot to explore. His inexperience does not prevent him from fantasizing about Gloria. Tony Sandoval then makes the bold choice of very dreamlike images to evoke the love and physical desire of the young man. Indeed, not everything is believed in Oscuro en Rosa but the dream and the flesh are at parity. As a teenager, her body is in full transformation under the effect of puberty, which is far from delighting her. He lives in a much more conventional family and fantasizes more than he acts. The narrative then expands to include an entire teenage quartet from the same block. Once the moral of the tale is revealed, Oscuro en Rosa reveals a very beautiful meeting between the reader and the book but also between the two characters. No more forbidden pleasures, this story is also the discovery of a new eroticism, fresh and open to modernity which is paradoxical to say the least in a tale. Tony Sandoval manages to put these dreamlike fantasies into images with gentleness and realism. It is sometimes more clumsy in texts that are a little busy.
