DERK16, the artist to discover

DERK16 is the new head of the Marseille rap scene and we present it to you on Just Focus. DERK16 has always been passionate about music and even before rapping, he sang constantly. He discovered artists like Alpha 5.20, Booba, Salif, Le Rat Luciano, Alonzo or Black Marché who inspired him and decided him to start rapping. It is on Youtube that he starts, a little more than four years ago. After a few songs, a few freestyles, he tries and gradually finds his musical identity by creating his own style. He mixes rap with slightly more urban sides and African sounds. The rapper is as comfortable kicking on more "Old school" prods, than on more "New school" prods. He walks around and explores the musical universe, not hesitating to use his voice for more sung melodies. You may have heard it, especially in the piece Barrio from Jul's Classico Organised. He launched his concept Les # Alims. The idea is simple, he stages himself in front of a diet, different each time, delivering a performance in front of the camera. We can find collaborations with different rappers; Elams, Kery James or Alonzo. Last Thursday, he released the 6th track of his title series, #Alim6 – Signature. This piece marks his signature in record company BELEM MUSIC X NEMESIS MUSIK (label of Fianso and Lassana Diakité). The opportunity for the rapper to continue to present himself to his growing audience. We discover a clip shot in front of a power supply, always.
