Jupiter & Okwess rebels with Better Than That

Jupiter & Okwess unveils a raging and funky clip for Better than that, a track from the album Na Kozonga with a beautiful message for ecology and against injustice. Jupiter & Okwess kicks our butts with its devilishly effective afro funk fusion, and we can not resist this last title and clip, Better than that, to see absolutely, to become crazy of this collective that comes to us from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The band released their third album, Na Kozonga, a few months ago on Zamora Prod, and is about to go on tour again this summer. Following a stunning Latin American tour, it was in Los Angeles, the most Latin city in the United States, that Na Kozonga was recorded, in the studios of Mario Caldato Jr (Beastie Boys, Seu Jorge, Beck, Bjork, Blur, John Lee Hooker, Manu Chao). From the samba of the carioca Rogê to the rap of the Brazilian pioneer Marcelo D2, through the brass of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band of New Orleans, the voice of the Franco-Chilean activist Ana Tijoux, the riffs of guitarist Yarol Poupaud or the soul voice of the American Maiya Sykes, Jupiter & Okwess do not fear surprising encounters, nor the craziest trips. Through these encounters, Na Kozonga takes us back to the shores of America, where the dark history of slavery has given birth to luminous music. After Hotel Univers and Kin Sonic , here is Na Kozonga, the third album of Jupiter & Okwess. Na Kozonga , in other words, "I'm going home." The "Rebel General", as he calls himself, did not think he meant so well… After touring the world with Okwess, his rock band from Congo, he has actually returned and stayed at home in recent months in Kinshasa because of the pandemic.
